My favourite places in Seville

My favourite places in Seville

Hola a todos! I am Marlies and I've been living in Seville for several months now, but unfortunately, it is time for me to go back home again, to Belgium. Since I know the city quite well now, people have asked me what my all-time favourite place in the city is. Can you imagine that this question is incredibely hard and that I just cannot choose one place as my favorite?

Sightseeing

Sometimes when I am off during the weekends, I go visit the Alcazar de Sevilla. I am in love with the Real Alcazar and its Moorish style, the patios with the small fountains and of course, the spectacular gardens of this royal palace. But the number one on my list of favorite places to visit is Plaza De España. This place is so magical and gives me a 1001 nights feeling. Also, at night, the fountain in the middle of the Spanish square is lighted in different colors!

Relaxing

About the fun things to do in Seville in summer, The temperatures in Seville can rise easily over 45 degrees during summer, and that is why the swimming pool is my ultimate favorite place in the afternoon (besides my air-conditioned apartment). In July, Sevilla Beach opened: it is a bar next to the aquarium of Seville, where you can have a drink with your feet in the sand or take a dip in the swimming pool

Going out (for dinner)

Oh how I love the Spanish kitchen, having tapas in Seville is really the best thing that has ever happened to me! It seems like Seville counts more tapas bar than people, and that’s why it is so hard to tell you which one serves the best tapas in Seville. A restaurant that I really liked was Karpanta. This restaurant takes ‘deciding what to eat’ to a new level, because they offer everything you can imagine: they have good choice in tapa, but also meat or fish is really good here, and on the menu there is also a wide range of pastas, pizzas, burgers, burritos, sandwiches… Too much to deal with! By the way, the neighborhood where Karpanta is situated, Alameda de Hercules, is the perfect spot to have a drink with friends. You won’t believe how many people are enjoying a drink in this area, it is really crowded, and that makes it so convivial! I love it!
