iBuenos dias!
My name is Daniëlle, the new intern that might be your guide on the daily tour. I’m 21 years old and I’m from one of the flattest countries in the world: The Netherlands! I’m currently in my third year of the study International Tourism Management at Breda University. I’m passionate about what I’m learning there and can’t wait to put it into practise at Andalucia Tours and Discovery.
In my spare time you will most likely find me outdoors. As a triathlete I love to swim, cycle and hit the trails on my long runs. You could also spot me skating the streets of Seville, since long distance skating is another sport I’m dedicated to. With new competitions coming up next year, I’m excited to train here in Seville and skip the cold winter days in The Netherlands. Besides that, I love to learn new things and enroll in courses that seem interesting for my future and for my freelance career.
Why I chose Sevilla
When I enrolled in the Tourism Management Programme, I knew right away I wanted to pick Spanish as my foreign language. I had only been to Spain once, but there was something about the language and culture that seemed to have a magnetic effect. I love that not only the city centre is full of beautiful historical buildings, but you see the astonishing history of Seville everywhere. It is a city with beautiful surprises around every corner and I am excited for the adventures that lie ahead!
Why ATD?
When searching for a suitable internship, I of course first looked for which company aligned best with my expectations and learning goals and I was happy to find Andalucia Tours and Discovery. Another perk was that it was in a city and country I wanted to get to know better. Since a big part of the internship is working on the social media presence of ATD, I felt this was the place where I could use my skills and develop them even better. As a freelance content writer, I love to do creative writing for websites and social media accounts to make people excited about the city of Seville and its culture. In the future I want to start my own company in sustainable tourism and I believe giving guided bike tours like these, is a great example of green tourism! I have only been here for a few days, but I am already excited to show the guests on the bike tours the city and give them unforgettable experiences.
You will find me at ATD from half of August 2019, until the beginning of January 2020. I hope to see you soon on one of our tours!
