Things To Do On A Sunday In Seville

01 Dec 2019

Are you planning on going on a weekend trip to Seville? But don’t forget that Sevillanos love their Sundays and that many places will be closed on this day. It is the perfect time for them to visit family and enjoy good food and drinks before the week starts again. But what can you do in Sevilla on Sundays as a tourist? Luckily, many touristic sights are open on Sundays. We made a list for you!

1. Visit the Cathedral
You can’t visit Seville and not go to the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. On Sunday it is open starting at 2:30 pm. If you don’t want to stand in a queue, we recommend booking tickets online. This ticket also allows you to visit the church El Salvador, which is just a short walk from the Cathedral. Are you interested in the adventures of Columbus? In the Cathedral you will be able to see his tomb!

2. Go on a biketour
We offer biketours almost every day of the year, including Sundays! Enjoy a biketour during which our guides show you the highlights of Seville. We offer biketours in many different languages, so check our daily bike tour for more information!

3. Make a walk through one of the parks
Nothing better than to rewind a little bit and take a stroll through one of the astonishing parks Sevilla has. The most well-known park in Seville is the María Luisa Park which covers a big part of the city and is next to the Plaza de España that you can also visit here. Enjoy your Sunday in the park, feed the pigeons at Plaza de America and try to find the beautiful waterfall in the park named the Monte Gurugú!
4. Visit a museum
Many museums in Seville are open on Sundays, so lucky you! A short list of museums that are open:

  • The Naval Museum which is located in the Torre del Oro
  • Museum of Fine Arts of Seville
  • Modern Art Museum of Seville
  • The Archeological Museum of Seville
  • Museum of Arts and Popular Customs of Seville
  • The Flamenco Dance Museum

5. Visit one of the other highlights
Luckily, there are many other highlights open in Seville as well, but make sure to check their websites for the opening hours on Sunday since they might be different throughout the year!

As you can see, there are enough possibilities on Sundays in Seville! Just remember that most stores will be closed and you might want to do your grocery shopping on Saturdays. Have a nice stay in Seville!
