Chose the right timing

Before visiting this beautiful city, it is important to chose the right period. From September to June is the best period to visit, because of the climate. The temperatures go between 16 and 32 degrees. From Oktober until March, it rains the most, but in these months you won't see so many tourists. If you want to book a hotel with a swimming pool, please note that they mostly open the swimming pool in Juni until November.

The months you have to avoid are Juni, July and August, because the temperatures can rise to 50 degrees. In July and August there is also no rain, so it is very dry and boiling hot.

If you are a nature lover, the first weeks of April are the best, because loads of trees are blooming. The oranges were taken from the orange trees in March, so in April you will be able to smell the delicious smell of these flowers.

How to get from the airport to your hotel

You can always take a cab, but this is the most expensive way to get there. If you like public transport, you can take the EA bus to the centre. This one way ticket or return ticket can be bought on the bus and is a very easy and cheap way to get to the airport.

If you don't like public transport, we advise you to reserve a Blablacar. Blablacar has its own app and website. Just make a profile, search for your driver, book the transfer and off you go! You can compare this to Uber and it is as cheap as taking the public transport.

What language would be nice to learn before going to Seville

In Seville most of the inhabitants only speak Spanish. Only few of them speak a tiny bit of English. If you want to get to know some locals, it is recommended to have studied some Spanish before visiting the city. This will make the conversations and the visit easier.

A fun way to learn the language is via Duolingo. By using this app, you will learn vocabulary and grammar. You can practice via Duolingo via the app, on the internet, or via Facebook.

How much time you need to visit the most beautiful gems of the city

If you are planning to visit Sevilla, we have selected some of the most pretty places for you to visit. Below you will find some tips and tricks and more information about everything.

Cathedral and the Giralda tower

The Cathedral is certainly a must-visit, because you will find a lot of treasures on the inside. It is the biggest Gothic cathedral in the world and can also be found on the Unesco World Heritage list since 1987. It has an amazing history, because it used to be the Amohad mosque from 1172 to 1248. When Ferdinand III reigned, he converted this mosque to a cathedral and nowadays loads of relics are hidden inside. Inside you will also find the tomb of Columbus, which is whitout doubt one of the most impressive tombs you've ever seen! On the outside it is not clearly indicated, but if you booked a ticket for the cathedral, you are also allowed to enter the Giralda tower from the inside. When you reached the top, you will be able to enjoy the most beautiful view of the city.

This visit will take you about 2 hours. The best thing to do is to buy your tickets in advance, so you can skip the line. If you forgot to do this, the best time to wait in line is at 9.00 a.m. or during the siesta (between 14h and 17h) , because the locals are having a beer or taking a nap at this time.

Underneath you will find the opening hours:

October to March:
Monday through Sunday: 09:30 - 17:00

April to September:
Monday through Sunday: 09:30 - 19:00

The cathedral and Giralda tower are closed on January 1 and 6, Good Friday and December 25.

Real Alcazar

Real Alcazar was originally build by the Moors in the 8th Century. Afterwards, the Spanish kings added more rooms to make it this beautiful as it is nowadays. It is also listed on the Unesco World Heritage Site since 1987. Inside you will see the Mudejar architecture, you will find out everything about the history of the azulejos, you will be able to admire the stunning patios, decorated sealings and you will be able to get lost in the gardens and in the palace. This is definately the most wonderful place you will ever visit in your life!
This visit will take you 3 to 3.5 hours. Also for this curiousity, the best thing to do is to buy your tickets http://www.alcazarsevilla.org/horarios-y-tarifas/ in advance to skip the line. If not, the best time to go there is at 9.15h or during the siesta (between 14h and 17h) .

Santa Cruz

This neighbourhood of Seville used to be the oldest Jewish quarter of the city. It contains a lot of small streets where you will get lost and some cosy patios and places with lovely bars and restaurants. The area was not always as pretty as it is today, because in the fifteenth century they had to leave the town or convert to catholicism. If not, they were burned alive. In 1929 there was the Ibero-American Exposition, an at this time they renovated the whole area so it would look greater than before. The best time to go to Santa Cruz is in the evening, while most of the tourists stay in the city centre. It is also nice to combine a relaxing evening walk in the Murillo park with a walk through Santa Cruz.

Feria de Abril

If you want to experience a local festival, the Seville Fair https://www.visitasevilla.es/en/history/feria-de-abril is really the place to be! During this fair, loads of  families gather together at the festival area at Los Remedios. There they celebrate for one week in Casetas. These are wooden houses with their own bar, live bands and security guards. At this festival you will also find ten public casetas, which are open for tourists. At this festival you will learn to dance the Sevillana, eat the traditional tapas and taste the local drinks. There is also a huge fair, where the kids can have a good time!

I hope you are now prepared to leave your hometown and visit our stunning city. Another good idea is to do a cycling tour https://atdspain.com/en/city/seville with us where you get an overall look, so afterwards you can decide which sight you would like to visit!
