In Seville, it is never quiet—especially after New Year’s. The start of the year is always celebrated in a big way. There are many different activities you can attend, such as gastronomic events, premieres, or outings. In this blog, I will show you various options of what you can do.

1. New Year’s Concert

Every year, the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla offers a special concert at the Teatro de la Maestranza. It is a Viennese New Year’s concert with an Andalusian touch. The repertoire is adapted to the occasion, with a special focus on Johann Strauss II.

This year, it will take place on January 3 and 4, 2026. The concerts will start at 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or via the Teatro de la Maestranza website and cost between €30 and €45.

2. Christmas Magic Projected on the Guadalquivir

Every year, the Pier de la Sal hosts a beautiful show. From December 18 onward, this spectacle is projected onto the Guadalquivir River and its walls. The show can be seen until January 4. Admission costs €2, and there are several time slots to choose from.

3. Candlelight Concerts

Every year, many different candlelight concerts are held throughout the year, and in January they start again with beautiful performances. These concerts take place at La Fundación Tres Culturas. The concerts you could attend include:

  • Tribute to Coldplay at the House of Salinas
  • The Best of Ludovico Einaudi by pianist Pepe Fernández
  • The Beatles at the Global Omnium Auditorium
  • Queen vs ABBA at the Aquarium of Seville
  • Tribute to Hans Zimmer among hundreds of candles

4. The Royal Herald in Seville

A few days before the Three Kings parade, the Royal Herald visits the city. This takes place on January 4 in the afternoon and evening. The Heraldo Real arrives in the city to ask for the keys to Seville, in order to facilitate the work of Their Majesties, who arrive on January 5.

5. Three Kings Cavalcade 2026

Every year on January 5, the Three Kings arrive in Spain—and in Seville as well. People gather in towns and cities across the country to celebrate. In Seville, the Three Kings celebration grows bigger every year. This year, it will be one of the largest parades ever, with more than 30 floats. They travel through the entire city and throw sweets into the crowd.
