Below we have listed some of the most famous wine routes in Andalusia:
Jerez de la frontera is the place where the most famous Andalusian wine comes from, the sherry, in Spanish called the "Jerez". The Jerez wine route starts in Jerez de la Frontera and here you can do many wine tasting tours visiting the different bodegas, or wineries. After visiting Jerez de la Frontera, the wine route continues to Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Chipiona, Rota and el Puerto de Santa María. Besides tasting the wine you can visit the beautiful beaches and learn about the great history of these cities.
If you are looking for a special wine tasting experience you should visit Bodegas Luis Perez just outside Jerez. During a tour at the bodega you will learn about the steps of the wine-making process and stroll through the vineyards and visit the wine cellar. You can do a tasting session with homemade snacks as well. But not only this, at Bodegas Luis Perez you can become a wine expert with your group for a day and produce your own wine. In the end you will receive a certificate and, of course drink your own blending.
In Aljarafe, a small place in the province of Seville, you can find the Ruta de mosto. Mosto is a special wine of high quality and without chemical additives. November is the best time for this route, this is when the wine tastes best. To recognize a good mosto wine, the color must be pale as water and it should smell like apple.
