Hey there!!

My name is Miranda, and I’m 18 years old. I’m from the small (but charming) fishing village of Urk! I started this internship on March 16, and I’ll be here until July 31.

I’m currently studying International Travel & Hospitality (Tourism & Studies) at Deltion College in Zwolle. I’m in my third and final year of the program, and so far it’s been a really educational and fun experience.

For my final requirement, I still need to complete a 600-hour internship, which is about 5 months. I also did an internship during my first year of school, but that was in the Netherlands. I really wanted to go abroad for my final internship! So now I get to live in beautiful Seville for the next 5 months, how cool is that!?

I ended up at ATD Bikes thanks to a classmate; during his previous internship, he’d decided to do it here. He told me he’d had a really great time, and I got excited right away when I heard about it. After the interview, I immediately felt a connection with the company, and it didn’t take long after that before I was already making arrangements for my stay in Spain.

That’s why I thought it would be fun to do my internship at ATD Bikes: you get to show the people the most beautiful parts of the city in a unique way, through enjoyable bike tours where you can share interesting facts about the city with them. I really appreciate the variety at the company; I often have a hard time focusing on just one thing all day, so I like that I get to do different tasks every day. That way, time just flies by!

For my internship, I’ll mainly be leading tours. I’ll be leading my first tour on April 1. I’m super nervous, but I’m really looking forward to it! During my first week, I joined several tours to see how things work in practice and helped hand out the bikes. I felt really welcome when I arrived at the company; everyone was super nice and helpful, and I don’t think it will be long before I’ve found my place in the team!

I think I’m going to have a fantastic time here at ATD Bikes and learn a lot. I’m also looking forward to living in Seville itself, it’s such a beautiful, culturally rich, and historic city, and I can’t wait to get to know it better. I’m so happy I got the chance to do my internship here.

Adiosss
