¡Bienvenidos, Bob y Daniek!

28 Sep 2020

¡Buenas dias! We are Bob and Daniek, both 19-year-old students and we are the new interns at Andalucía Tours and Discovery.

Bob:
¡Hola, me llamo Bob! I was born and raised in a small village in the southern part of the Netherlands but currently, I live in Breda for my studies. At the moment, I’m in my third year of International Tourism Management at Breda University of Applied Sciences.

As you might have guessed already, I really love to travel. Experiencing different cultures and different views are one of the best feelings in the world if you would ask me. When I’m back home in the Netherlands, I love to spend time with my friends, watching series and being creative in the kitchen.

Why Seville? Back in January 2019, I visited Seville with two friends. When wandering through this beautiful city, I enjoyed every moment. The most beautiful thing about Seville, in my opinion, is the variety of the city. There’s always something happening in the city and Seville is able to surprise you at every corner. Historical buildings, delicious restaurants, fun festivities, you name it! You can see some pictures of my trip to Seville in my portfolio via this link: https://bobbhertog.wixsite.com/portfolio/seville Feel free to discover the rest of my portfolio if you like!
Unfortunately, I’m not able to be in Seville again (yet) due to the circumstances of COVID-19. “How are you going to do your internship if you can’t be in Seville right now?”, you might ask yourself. Well, ATD offered me the opportunity to do the internship from home! Technology nowadays allows us to contact each other quite easily and therefore, I am able to do this internship online.

Why ATD? I like travelling, social media and writing and I like to be creative. I believe that ATD offers me an option to develop myself in gaining more knowledge about content marketing and the tourism industry and also gives me the opportunity to be free in thinking creatively. Moreover, since ATD offers this internship online, I am still able to do an internship during the hard times regarding the circumstances of COVID-19.
I am very excited, and I hope I still might be able to visit Seville in the future once again!

Daniek:
¡Hola, me llamo Daniek! I was born and raised in Tilburg, a city in the province of Noord-Brabant and I currently still live here. Just like Bob, I am also in my third year of International Tourism Management at Breda University of Applied Sciences. Due to COVID-19 I decided to take a gap-year from my studies. Therefore, I am a volunteer at ATD and also the sidekick of Bob.

One of my favorite hobbies is to explore the world and all the new opportunities it gives me. Discovering different places gives me a new outlook on versatile cultures and develops an open mindset. These are two reasons why I love travelling so much. Moreover, another hobby of mine is creating video content and documenting most of my trips. I love to share my travel experiences with everyone and therefore I have my own YouTube channel called “Daniek Roovers” where I upload these travel videos. The link to my YouTube channel is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwy-wy2YGpysR0SdBfy762g
When I am not able to travel I enjoy working in the tourism industry and spending time with my friends and family.

When I was younger, my family and I travelled to Seville for a citytrip. During this trip I fell in love with the culture, history, cuisine and the people of Seville. While walking through the city it feels like a whole different world where multiple cultural influences combine. This is also something that you can recognize in the historical buildings which amazed me while being there. The typical Spanish food is astonishing and especially one of my favorite dishes, the “Patatas bravas”. Furthermore, the residents of Seville are warm-hearted and open towards everyone. These are some of the reasons why I love Seville but there are way more.

Just like Bob I am also not able to travel to Seville at this moment due to COVID-19. Hopefully I am able to do my official internship at ATD in September 2021. For now I am helping Bob with his online internship!

I chose ATD since their activities harmonize with my passion, experiences and topics I want to learn more about. The daily activities that appeal to me are the social media and internet-marketing aspects of ATD combined with their tours and especially the bike tours that they offer. I think that I can learn a lot from ATD and hope that I am able to apply everything that I learn right now when I do my official internship in 2021!
