Hola everyone!
My name is Ellen and I'm the newest member at Andalucía Tours and Discovery. I am twenty five years old and I'm a Dutch student from Zundert. (That is a very small village near Breda.) I’m doing a study in Tourism at the TUI Hospitality Academy in Den Bosch. I started my study last september and I hope to graduate next May. I already did a study in fine art and education but I wanted something else. So I went looking for what made me happy and I found this. What is more fun than working with people and giving them a good time on their holiday?
In my spare time I really like to read and do theater with my friend. My friends and my family are very important to me and I really like to hang out with them. When I’m free from work or school, and I’m not with my family or friends, I like to go on a walk or a hike and take my camera with me so I can make a bunch of photos. Walking or Hiking isn’t the only sport I really like, mountain biking is also one of my favorite things to do. And I always went on ski trips with my parents around christmas when I was little. So you can say that I’m not really an indoor person.
Why ATD?
I was looking for an internship that wasn’t in the Netherlands because I want to see the world. Living in spain was on my bucket list. And I hope this will be the first of many places I will live in. Also, I wanted a place that would give me a chance to work on my Spanish because that isn’t that great. I love being outside and an office space wouldn't be my ideal workspace. So for my internship I was looking for a job that allowed me to go outside and see some of the city. I found the idea of guiding very interesting and because I love to bike this is the ideal workspace for me. Before my interview I didn’t know what to expect but in my interview I became more excited for this internship. This is what I want to do. Guiding in a beautiful city and giving people a great experience with this city. Now that I’m here I really like it because of so many things. The people here are very nice and they give you a feeling you’re welcome right from the start. I’m really excited to do tours soon and also to make beautiful pictures to put on the social-media of ATD.
Why Sevilla?
Why Sevilla? I think that isn’t a hard question to answer because from the moment you are in Sevilla you see that is so beautiful. Sevilla has a lot of history but also a lot of nature in it. You can say that sevilla has a rich culture and is gorgeous to everyone.
There are so many things I want to do here and behind every corner there is an adventure waiting for me. I’m glad that my family and friends are coming to visit me because they will have the time of their lives in this city.
The only thing I'm a bit worried about is the intense heat we will get in the summer. Luckily, there are ways to handle that heat. If the Sevillians can deal with it, so can I! (I think)
So that’s about me and as the Spanish people say.
¡Hasta la vista!
