Andalusia has many beautiful cities, Ronda is one of them. Ronda is known for its nice atmosphere and the famous El Tajo gorge. The city of Ronda is divided in an old and new part by the Tajo de Ronda. There are three bridges that cross the gorge, the puente romano, the puente viejo and the puente nuevo. The puente nuevo (new bridge) is one of the most impressive constructions in Spain. After crossing this bridge you can visit the Plaza de España and the Plaza de Toros.
The bullfighting arena in Ronda is the oldest one in Spain and still in use. Ronda is the birthplace of modern bullfighting in Spain. In the 18th century, bullfighter Pedro Romero founded the style of bullfighting with matadores as we know it now. Nowadays there are only four bullfights a year, all in September. The rest of the year the museum and arena are open for a visit.
If you have more time to spend in Ronda, a visit to the arabic baths is a must. These “Baños Arabes” are the best preserved arabic baths in Spain.
