Where artists get their inspiration

Once Ernest Hemmingway wrote about this city in two of his novels. He visited Ronda often. That´s why there´s a street called after him and in souvenir shops you can still find postcards with pictures of him. He said about Ronda „Ronda is the place where to go, if you are planning to travel to Spain for a honeymoon or for being with a girlfriend. The whole city and its surroundings are a romantic set.… Nice promenades, good wine, excellent food, nothing to do…“

There´s a lot to see in Ronda

Most Moorish constructions were destroyed after the Reconquista by the catholic kings besides the old bridge, the Arabian baths, two palaces and the house of the moor king. Ronda’s old town has a special spirit which you can only feel if you´ve been there.

From the terrace of „Don Miguel” which is next to the new bridge, you have a great view at the bridge. But to see the impressive panorama of the city built on rocks, you have to distance yourself a little. Therefor you could go horseback riding. There are several horse farms around Ronda which offer daily tours. But of course you could also hike if you prefer. The landscapes are breathtaking and worth the walk. From the fields around Ronda you realize how high the rocks actually are on which the city was built.
